Joseph Partridge was born to Benoni Partridge and Mehetabel Wheelock in West Medway, Massachusetts, 22 Aug 1715. He married, 11 Feb 1747, Mary Sheffield, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Sheffield, of Sherborn, Massachusetts. They resided in Holiiston, Massachusetts, where he died before 6 Mar 1754. His widow was admitted administratrix on his estate, 15 Apr 1754. His real and personal property were appraised at £1800 [1]Middlesex Co. Prob., case 12080. His widow married second, 4 Dec 1755, James Torrey of Upton, Massachusetts. In 1758, a petition signed by Preserved, Timothy, Moses, Jesse, Eli, Rachel and Katherine Partridge, was presented to the Judge of Probate for Middlesex County, to have Mary Torrey dismissed as guardian of her two children, and to have their uncle Seth Partridge appointed in her stead, it has been represented that the father-in-law (Torrey) was attempting to get possession of the children’s property [2]Middlesex Co.   1. Samuel Partridge, born 26 Mar 1749 in Holliston, Massachusetts. Died before the petition of 1758.
  2. Urania Partridge, born 7 Oct 1750 and baptized 6 Jan 1750 at First Congregational Church in East Medway, Massachusetts (now Millis). Married John Ellis 2 Feb 1774 in Mendon, Massachusetts. They would remove to Rockingham, Vermont where on 2 Sep 1781 John was admitted to the First Congregational Church in Rockingham. Urania would be admitted member on 11 Jul 1790. She would die in Rockingham on 16 Aug 1812. Children.
  3. Anna Partridge. Married 1 May 1771, Jonathan Holbrook of Bellingham, Massachusetts. Children.
